Sorry so long!!

We have been so busy lately it seems! So I have neglected this blog a bit...but I'm back! :)

Let's see...we found out we are having another boy!! So excited that Wyatt will have a brother! And now we can finally stop with the what if planning method and start getting organized and ready for baby number 2. Although I'm finding it horribly hard to not want to go buy a whole new wardrobe for the new baby...haha Baby number 2 looks healthy and great so far, so we're just excited to get a good report!

Wyatt is doing great! He's getting much faster with his walking and I'm waiting for the day he just breaks out in a run...that'll be the end haha He's starting to try to talk more now that he's realized his signs that he uses mean words, now he'll sign and say More (which sounds like momma, but we know what he's meaning). And he's trying to mimic more sounds and words that we say. He loves being outside, so thankfully with so much nice weather lately (and a new laptop battery) that is where we spend most of our days now. He's content to just play around the house and in the yard, so I'm still able to get some work done while he's happily playing around outside, which is an amazing compromise :) He's become so in love with riding the horses lately, it's unreal. He can't be around them without wanting to be on them and he has amazing balance when he's up there. I think we're going to have a natural horseman just like his daddy!

We got a new barn up this past week to help with hay storage this year. It looks great! Wyatt loved watching them put it up and seeing all the tools they were using. I'll post pictures of that soon.

We've been getting the summer flowers and bushes planted over the past couple of weeks. We even got a couple of blackberry bushes planted, to bring our fruit total to grapes, blackberries and peaches! We're still considering adding some blueberry bushes or some apple trees eventually. We love our fruit!!

Happy Friday!!!

Sticks and Kitty Cats

There has been a dramatic shift in our family this week...Daisy went from running quickly away from Wyatt, to actually playing with him!! And he loves it! haha it's been fun to watch these two evolve into friends. Sometimes she'll even let him pet her! My favorite is today we were picking up all the limbs out of the yard from the recent wind storm and Wyatt would drag a limb behind him and Daisy would run up and pounce on it from behind. This of course upset Wyatt as he thought she was trying to steal his toy limb. And so this happened several times and became funnier each time :)

Wyatt loves to run around and pick up all the sticks for us...if only he'd put them in the wheelbarrow like we want and not just insist on carrying them everywhere with us. But it's still cute!

Last night we were up at the big barn feeding the new horse we just got in for boarding and cleaning out his stall. We decided instead of insisting on Wyatt in his stroller like we've always done while doing chores, that we'd try letting him run around some now that he's walking everywhere consistently. Best Idea Ever. He Loved his new found freedom and the fact that if he wanted to walk up and down that long barn aisle 20 times, he could. He eventually decided he was done and walked out to the truck and pointed at the door to get in. Slept like a log and woke up laughing. Maybe we should do that every night!

Two more weeks and we should find out if we're having a boy or a girl for baby number 2!! Can't wait!

Happy Monday everyone!!

Whole new meaning to pick up sticks.

Lots of sticks!

We even put some sticks in our truck for safe keeping.

Yay for sticks!

You can have this one, I'm done with it.

hmmm actually, I want that one back.

Happy Spring!

So glad Spring is here! I'm ready for warm weather and sunny days. We've been taking advantage of every pretty day we've had so far and spending as much time outside as we can. So the rainy days lately have not been very fun for a certain 14 month old...now we know what outside means...

Wyatt is walking now!! Scary for us, but kind of neat to hit another milestone. He was walking some but still primarily crawling until recently, and now it's all walking. Crazy to think our little baby is now a toddler!!

Nothing new to report here. I'm at about week 16 right now with this pregnancy so starting to feel better and belly is growing a little more. We'll find out in 3 weeks what we're having, so we're excited about that so we can start planning a little better.

Here are some new pictures from recently to share:

Happy Anniversary! (and other updates)

Whew...we have been so busy lately! with all this nice weather we've had, we've had plenty of riders coming through (way more than we ever have this time of year). So that's kept Robb busy. We bought two new horses that I think are going to be great. Moose and still to be named (I like Albert, but we'll see) :)

My mom came up last weekend and stayed with Wyatt, while Robb and I took off to Pigeon Forge to celebrate our anniversary a week late. We had such a great time! Spent Friday around Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg then on Saturday we went to Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and rode the 11 mile bike loop (which takes a little longer with a pregnant lady) but had a great time! I got to ride my brand spankin' new bike that Robb bought for me for our anniversary! So much fun, and so nice to be able to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather and play like we used to. It was much needed! All in all a great trip!

We're in the process of getting organized for this summer and all the craziness that is coming with it. Robb's getting everything ready with the barn, horses, trails, etc. etc. I've been trying to get somewhat organized in the house with new baby stuff and Wyatt's stuff. Robb and I are trying to figure out how we want to finish off the last room so we can try to get that done before this summer (maybe) and get all the rooms situated for now. So lots of things to be done and probably way too little time to get them done in. But that's the joys of owning your own home and business, right? :)

Lots of things coming up in a hurry for us. But I think we'll get there :) Happy Friday everyone!!!

Goodbye

Last night we said goodbye to a very dear friend and family member. He'd reached his old age and time wasn't on his side anymore. Blaze was an amazing horse and friend. He never failed to show how steady and true he was. He never missed a step or put anyone in harms way. Was always willing to lead the herd without a second thought. Not only was he reliable, but a genuine beauty which no one could dispute. It's on to greener pastures budy, you will be missed more than you'll ever realize.

Slacker Update

I know I have been totally slack on this lately, but baby number 2 is not cooperating as well as Wyatt did and I've been feeling pretty misserable the past few weeks. So not much has gotten done in general other than what had to be done. Robb's been picking up my slack and helping while I rest (and by rest I mean go to bed when Wyatt does). But I think (knock on wood) I might be starting to feel a tiny bit better...there are more good times durring the day than there has been, so I'll take what I can get. We go for the first ultrasound next week to get a look at the little bean and make sure everything looks good so far. Can't wait!

We've had to sell a few horses, some of the older ones, recently. That's been no fun. But we need to make sure we've got time to get some new ones in and ready for the summer season. So Robb is in the middle of getting everyone lined up and ready for the summer. Can't believe it's time to start thinking about the summer already!!

Robb's also been working on some more renovations on the house as we adjust our thoughts to the realization that we're going to have two babies in the house this year. So he's working on getting a couple of rooms fixed up as we try to decide who should go where. Hopefully after we get this big renovation part complete, we'll be done for awhile (I hope!!!) I really think we'll be able to relax on the major changes of the house after this one, so that'll be nice to have that behind us. Also, if anyone gets bored and wants to come help, let us know!!! :)

We went up to Boone a few weekends ago to visit a couple of friends. They also have a baby the same age as Wyatt (3 weeks older), so that was a blast! The two of them really got along well and had a ball playing together and chasing their cats around. It was nice to see Stephanie and Nick and catch up on all that's going on with them. Don't get to do that nearly enough it seems.

Wyatt is now learning sign language. So far we've got Please, Thank You (sort of) and More. He's even putting them together like More Please. So cute!

Here's some new pics!

On a mission

So this deserves a story...He woke up early the other day
and I still needed to finish up a few things, so I put up the
gate and let him play in his room. After a little while I hear
him starting to get a little grunty, so I go poke my head in
and find this. He'd climbed into his toy bin, got stuck and was
signing please out when I came in. So cute!
