Spring Adventures

Spring has sprung and we have been hopping along with all sorts of fun adventures! The weather has been amazing (with a few cold days thrown in) and we've been taking advantage of it for sure. We did a little camping in Pisgah Forest with some of the Goins crew a few weeks back and Wyatt got to spend the night sleeping in a tent for the first time! He's really getting into this camping idea.

We've spent a lot of time outside getting things all cleaned up and looking good. We've painted doors, added mulch, mowed, weedeated, bushhogged, etc. etc. and it's only May! I always forget how much work it is around here once everything begins to grow again. But we enjoy spending time outside.

We welcomed a new horse recently and he's adjusting to the rest of the herd well. All the horses have shed their winter coats and are really looking great coming out of an easier winter. That's always a good way to start the summer season. :) Levi also got his hair cut for the summer recently and is looking so good! We decided he needed a little help this year to get rid of that heavy winter coat and I think it may become a yearly thing now.

The boys are doing great! Cole is really starting to sit up and take notice of everything now. He's discovering the animals and all the crazy things going on around him. He's super close to crawling and gets up on his hands and knees now, just no forward motion yet (and no complaint from this momma!) but I have a feeling things are about to get a little more entertaining around here really soon once he can chase after his brother finally :) Wyatt is talking up a storm. His current favorite phrase "What is that?" about everything! haha it's pretty cute.

We just got back from a great trip to the beach. We spent a week down at Myrtle Beach State Park and had a blast! The boys were able to play outside a bunch, we played on the beach, Robb got to do a lot of fishing on the pier, and there were several playgrounds we had to check out. All in all, we wished we stayed another week :)

Hope everyone is doing good during this super full moon!!

Happy Sunday (funday)!

Spring Is Here!

I can't believe it's spring time already! That may be in part due to the fact that we never really had a winter...either way, Hello Spring!

We have been busy with work and the boys and everything in between lately. The barn is hopping with lots of riders on spring break and taking advantage of the beautiful weather. The horses are all shedding their winter coats and getting in shape for the summer.

Everything is so pretty with all the dogwoods and other pretty trees budding and blooming! Everyday it's a new scene outside :)

The boys are doing great! They are both happy and healthy and learning so much every day. Wyatt is a chatter box and constantly running around getting into something. Cole is also constantly on the move and getting into something. He has figured out that he should be able to crawl/walk but can't yet, so he's pretty frustrated while he's trying to figure all of that out. I can only imagine how happy he's going to be once he can chase his brother down :)

We've made trips to Kernersville and Brevard recently to see all the family all over the state :) Robb and I went out to see "The Hunger Games" which was really good if you haven't had a chance to see it.

Happy Thursday! (and an early Happy Easter!)

We love throwing rocks!

Sick, Sick, Sick

That seems an appropriate title for this post, because that pretty much sums up our house lately. My goodness! If it's going around I think we've caught it. Wyatt was sick first, ended up with an ear infection. Then Robb got sick with a cold/sinus infection junk. Then Cole caught it all. But everyone is finally on the mend and getting better. Yay!

Cole is 6 months now! Hard to believe! He's doing great. He realized the other day that he could make sounds (mainly BA!) so we're hearing a lot more from him lately. He's also discovered that he can in fact roll around on his own, so the days of him staying put, are officially over. Watch out Wyatt, he's coming for your toys!

Wyatt is talking up a storm! He's like a parrot now. Constantly talking and repeating anything he hears, which is both hillarious and sometimes a bit bothersome. :) He's enjoying learning the chores around here and helping both Momma and Daddy with different things. He loves helping Daddy with the animals and feeding and watering everyone. He's really come to LOVE the animals lately which most of the time results in him having to kiss the animals before he leaves them.

Robb's been busy with rides and keeping up with shoeing horses, getting hay, training horses, and catching up on his to do list. He's had a couple of horses in for training and has been spending time with them to get them up ship shape and ready to go. The spring season is already sneaking up on us as well at the barn and I think going to hit us earlier with this mild winter.

We survived the crazy weather recently. There were a few tornados nearby but nothing in our immediate area. They hit in Murphy and Andrews and did quite a number. Then a couple of days later it snowed. I'm ready for spring and sun and flowers :)

I've been working a lot and trying to shuffle everyone between doctors visits, medicine and soup. Somehow Mommy Immunity has kicked in and helped me through this last round of junk. Unless it's like last time and somehow it'll come back and kick me in the behind next week after everyone else is healthy. I'm going to go with Mommy Immunity this time. :)

Hope everyone is doing well!

Happy Thursday!
Happy Boy!

February

We have had an eventful month so far! :) We all got the awful stomach bug that's going around. Luckily it hit the boys in an insanely minor way and then about killed Robb and I both. Luckily we didn't get it at the same time, so we were able to help each other and the other take care of the boys so we could rest. But, man, that was a nasty bug!!

After that we decided to get the heck out of dodge and drove to the beach for some fresh air and a change of scenery to relax. It was a great trip! Perfect time to go as there was hardly anyone around. We went to the aquarium and had a great time. I think had it been crowded it wouldn't have been as good of an experience with the boys. There wasn't anyone there so we could take our time and not have to worry about rushing through anything. Robb got to do some fishing and relaxing (without a horse in sight)! The boys and I enjoyed some fresh air and a nice change of scenery. Our only complaint, we should've stayed longer. :)

We've had several rides this winter thanks in part to a mild winter keeping people outside enjoying the weather. This weekend was no exception! Such a nice change of pace from winters past. Although I could do with a little snow this winter...I don't think that's asking too much ;)

Both boys are doing great! Wyatt is talking up a storm and into EVERYTHING!! He goes and goes and goes from the time his feet hit the floor until he's in bed. He loves anything to do with trucks and/or tractors right now. Loves riding on the tractor with Daddy! His current favorite phrases include "Dirty Dirty Dirty" "How are you" and our current favorite "Love you Daddy/Momma. Bye " followed with a kiss blown to us. Can't help but adore that little guy!

Cole is completely fascinated with his brother (and his toes). He loves to watch whatever Wyatt's getting into and Wyatt loves to get him all wound up. The two of them together are going to be trouble I have a feeling! Cole is starting to roll around more and more and has gotten good at laying on his back and digging his heels in and scooting backwards. It's pretty funny. He's working on learning to eat solid foods, but I think he'd rather have what we're eating more than his oh so tasty rice cereal! haha He's starting to enjoy using the Johnny Jump Up and is starting to actually jump a little and push himself around some.

Other than that we are just getting things ready to start thinking about this summer coming up and get ready for that. :)

Hope everyone is doing well!

Happy Sunday!
