Sick, Sick, Sick

That seems an appropriate title for this post, because that pretty much sums up our house lately. My goodness! If it's going around I think we've caught it. Wyatt was sick first, ended up with an ear infection. Then Robb got sick with a cold/sinus infection junk. Then Cole caught it all. But everyone is finally on the mend and getting better. Yay!

Cole is 6 months now! Hard to believe! He's doing great. He realized the other day that he could make sounds (mainly BA!) so we're hearing a lot more from him lately. He's also discovered that he can in fact roll around on his own, so the days of him staying put, are officially over. Watch out Wyatt, he's coming for your toys!

Wyatt is talking up a storm! He's like a parrot now. Constantly talking and repeating anything he hears, which is both hillarious and sometimes a bit bothersome. :) He's enjoying learning the chores around here and helping both Momma and Daddy with different things. He loves helping Daddy with the animals and feeding and watering everyone. He's really come to LOVE the animals lately which most of the time results in him having to kiss the animals before he leaves them.

Robb's been busy with rides and keeping up with shoeing horses, getting hay, training horses, and catching up on his to do list. He's had a couple of horses in for training and has been spending time with them to get them up ship shape and ready to go. The spring season is already sneaking up on us as well at the barn and I think going to hit us earlier with this mild winter.

We survived the crazy weather recently. There were a few tornados nearby but nothing in our immediate area. They hit in Murphy and Andrews and did quite a number. Then a couple of days later it snowed. I'm ready for spring and sun and flowers :)

I've been working a lot and trying to shuffle everyone between doctors visits, medicine and soup. Somehow Mommy Immunity has kicked in and helped me through this last round of junk. Unless it's like last time and somehow it'll come back and kick me in the behind next week after everyone else is healthy. I'm going to go with Mommy Immunity this time. :)

Hope everyone is doing well!

Happy Thursday!

February

We have had an eventful month so far! :) We all got the awful stomach bug that's going around. Luckily it hit the boys in an insanely minor way and then about killed Robb and I both. Luckily we didn't get it at the same time, so we were able to help each other and the other take care of the boys so we could rest. But, man, that was a nasty bug!!

After that we decided to get the heck out of dodge and drove to the beach for some fresh air and a change of scenery to relax. It was a great trip! Perfect time to go as there was hardly anyone around. We went to the aquarium and had a great time. I think had it been crowded it wouldn't have been as good of an experience with the boys. There wasn't anyone there so we could take our time and not have to worry about rushing through anything. Robb got to do some fishing and relaxing (without a horse in sight)! The boys and I enjoyed some fresh air and a nice change of scenery. Our only complaint, we should've stayed longer. :)

We've had several rides this winter thanks in part to a mild winter keeping people outside enjoying the weather. This weekend was no exception! Such a nice change of pace from winters past. Although I could do with a little snow this winter...I don't think that's asking too much ;)

Both boys are doing great! Wyatt is talking up a storm and into EVERYTHING!! He goes and goes and goes from the time his feet hit the floor until he's in bed. He loves anything to do with trucks and/or tractors right now. Loves riding on the tractor with Daddy! His current favorite phrases include "Dirty Dirty Dirty" "How are you" and our current favorite "Love you Daddy/Momma. Bye " followed with a kiss blown to us. Can't help but adore that little guy!

Cole is completely fascinated with his brother (and his toes). He loves to watch whatever Wyatt's getting into and Wyatt loves to get him all wound up. The two of them together are going to be trouble I have a feeling! Cole is starting to roll around more and more and has gotten good at laying on his back and digging his heels in and scooting backwards. It's pretty funny. He's working on learning to eat solid foods, but I think he'd rather have what we're eating more than his oh so tasty rice cereal! haha He's starting to enjoy using the Johnny Jump Up and is starting to actually jump a little and push himself around some.

Other than that we are just getting things ready to start thinking about this summer coming up and get ready for that. :)

Hope everyone is doing well!

Happy Sunday!

January

So I thought it'd be fun instead of updating this regularly just to do one post a month...Just Kidding! It's just not been on my mind lately. So sorry! But here's what we've been up to:

We celebrated my birthday January 10th with a SUPER yummy red velvet cake and dinner with friends. Then that Saturday, January 14th, we celebrated Wyatt's 2nd birthday with Todd and Beth and their family with pizza and cupcakes! It was fun! Wyatt got lots of fun things for his birthday (which I've only gotten halfway thru the thank you cards...getting a 2 year old to write his thank you cards is so challenging ;)  But we're almost there!

Robb has had several rides going out this month keeping him out and about with this unusally warm winter. He's been working on getting some things reorganized around the barn and a little more how he wants everything set up. It looks so good!

The horses are enjoying some time off from the crazy seasons and are getting silly. It's always fun to look out and see them playing and chasing each other around. We traded the mule for a new horse a little while back, so our new addition, Rango, is getting settled in.

We took a trip down to Kernersville to visit and catch up with everyone there. Picked up some more furniture for the house and have spent most of this week getting everything moved around and set up. Wyatt is in a big boy twin bed (soon to be bunk beds) and loving it! Cole has moved into his own room and is also apparently loving it as his sleep has improved very much. He's actually waking up laughing and happy now! Such a great, MUCH needed change for all of us :)

I think that sums up what we've been up to lately. Work has been getting busier for me with a big season getting geared up so I've been a little more tied up with that lately.

As always, we leave you with some pictures of our crew :)

Happy Friday!

Happy Birthday to me!

I know I know...

I haven't updated in a month, but things got a little busy around here and by the time I thought about this in the evenings, going to sleep a little earlier won. No offense. BUT, here I am and here's the latest happenings at Chunky Gal....

Robb started the month off with a trip to Denver to see his cousin, Lauren, get married. He said it was a good trip and nice to see some of the family he doesn't get to see much anymore. The wedding was nice, it just would've been nice to have some more time to visit with people and do a little site seeing, but it was a quick weekend trip out and back.

We had a great Holiday season both with family and with the business. We got to spend some quality time with both sides of the family this year instead of rushing around trying to see everyone in two days, so to me, that was a big plus and very nice. Everyone ate and was very merry :) I think Wyatt enjoyed Christmas a little more this year realizing slowly what's going on. We attempted to visit Santa...which didn't end well...the only way Wyatt would even get near Santa was to cling to me, thus Momma was in the picture with Santa. Cole didn't seem to mind ;)

Christmas Eve Wyatt fell and busted his lip...and had a very impressive puffy lip the next day for pictures and family fun.

Here are some other pictures from our Christmas adventures! :)

After Christmas we were pretty busy with things around the farm. Lots of rides in a short amount of time. But we had great customers and it was a very pleasant couple of weeks visiting with everyone on the rides. We saw a lot of familiar faces (which we always love) and some new ones as well. We're getting to the point now where we're really getting to know some of our families that are riding with us and we're seeing them grow and change. That's pretty cool :) It's always neat to me when someone comes to ride and says "You were pregnant with Wyatt the last time we were here" or "You guys had just gotten married", it's so nice that people care enough to remember those things. That means a lot!

We had a wild and crazy New Years Eve (I think we were all asleep by 10:00pm, except for Robb who did stay up to ring in the New Year).

Both boys are teething...so that's been fun for Momma and Daddy. Cole is slowly getting on a schedule and learning about sleeping when he's supposed to, not just whenever he feels like (or doesn't feel like it at 3:00am). So that's helping. Wyatt is learning a ton of new words and starting to talk all the time. He can even say Octopus and Basketball!  We're working on letters and numbers right now and he loves to count and say the alphabet. I can't believe he'll be 2 in a few days!! Where did the last 2 years go???? Both boys are growing and changing so fast!!

We'll leave you with some random pictures over the last month.

Happy Monday!!
